Latin Name: Capsicum annuum

Description:
Beautiful orange hot peppers, cylindrical in shape and about two inches long. Flavor is fruity and aromatic, maybe twice as hot as a Jalapeño. Orange fermented hot sauce made from these peppers has become something of a staple at Twin Oaks Community. We first got these peppers from Baker Creek in 2019, labeled as Datil - a variety from St. Augustine, Florida. Like Datil, these are smallish orange hot peppers on big plants. However, Datil peppers are a different species (Capsicum chinense) and have a different shape, look and flavor to them. We’re not sure the source of the mix-up, but we like these peppers, and we’ve had several customers asking for them. So we’re continuing to offer them, with a new name that we thought suited them. Note that we’re now offering the real St. Augustine Datil pepper as well. 160 seeds/gram. Grown by Twin Oaks Seed Farm.
