Latin Name: Pisum Sativum
Days to Maturity: 100+
Description:
This is perhaps the most productive dry pea for me with a mid-maturity. It loves to climb, is multi-branching, and produces abundant pink/purple flowers that form into hardy, green pods that resist bird damage. The peas themselves are beautiful speckled, mottled blue with an occasional full dark blue pea. Use as a dry soup pea. I plant from December to January for a late April or early May harvest. Pull full plants when 75% or more of the plant has turned yellow and is dry, or wait until fully dry in areas that allow. Thresh in a pillow sack and then winnow.
