Latin Name: Capsicum annuum
Days to Maturity: 70
Description:
Beautiful bright red large hot peppers that start out light green and have mild to medium heat. 6-7 inches long, 2-3 inches at the top and tapered. Very sweet when used red, in addition to being hot, and mild enough that you can use a good bit without overpowering the dish. We got seedstock from Christopher Hoetschl, through the Seed Savers Exchange yearbook. Plants are very productive, somewhat small, and bear early. We grew a sizeable seed crop in 2024 and were very happy with its utility for frying and roasting, including in the making of a delicious and bright red homemade ‘sriracha’ hot sauce (roasted Beaverdam peppers, roasted garlic, salt). 125 seeds/gram. Grown by Twin Oaks Seed Farm and Living Energy Farm.
