This large rustic French pumpkin (aka Rouge Vif d’Etampes) will really feed you, and is a feast for the eyes as well. Stunning flattened, deeply lobed fruits can weigh up to 50 lbs or more when mature, with extremely thick rich orange fleshy walls that take quite a bit of oomph to hack open. Flavor is sweet and mild, great in pies and soups, and the texture is creamy. The flowers can be stuffed, fried, or used in soups, and the large seeds can also be roasted and eaten for a nutritional snack.
