Description:
This softneck variety, Ajo Morado, is the first garlic to be harvested and ready for consumption in the United States every year. Availiable the end of April it comes beautifully braided in the Mediterranean style which is far more appealing to the eye to the bulky American style.
The variety, accompanied with the style of braiding as well as its freshness, insure that it will last up to 10 months if stored properly. The beautifully purple striped garlic is accented by the green and yellow stalks making this an absolutely stunning piece. So pretty in fact, that half of our customers use them for decoration only, but please, for those of you who love garlic, TRY it!
*If you order before May 1st it is a pre-order and will not ship until then.*
It has an amazing punch for a softneck, full flavored, and mild when cooked. Grown entirely by hand using all organic methods in volcanic soil far from any source of pollution these babies are the epitome of health. A 10 bulb braid will weigh about one to two pounds. A 15 bulb braid will weigh between two and three pounds, and a 25 bulb braid will weigh between four and five lbs.
Our happy little ranch uses all aspect of organic and biodynamic farming practices to achieve the highest quality food, or medicine, as we like to think of our garlic as. Grown with love and attention, whether planting or eating, the care we take will shine through. Enjoy!
