Description:
Developed at Auburn University in Alabama for resistance to Anthracnose (races 1 and 2), Fusarium, and Downy Mildew (also Gummy Stem Blight, however subsequent research indicates the Gummy Stem Blight resistance wasn't successful). Released in 1993, this variety is not available commercially elsewhere as far as we know. We got seeds from the USDA germplasm bank. Melons are round, 10-15 pounds, and a bright deep red on the inside. The seeds are large but not plentiful. Rind is thin. Sweet, crisp and tasty. 280 seeds / ounce. Grown by Twin Oaks Seed Farm.
