Description:

Purple Marconi-(Capsicum annuum)-The Purple Marconi is the rarest of the Marconi peppers. The others being the Red and Golden. The Purple Marconi ripen from green to a dark purple. But like other purple species if you leave on the plant too long they will turn red. Sweetness begins at fully ripened Purple stage. Sweetness does increase with red color. They are a sweet pepper but you will sometimes get a detectable mild heat in the seed tissue. The fruit get over 2 inches wide at stem growing up to 9 inches long to a pointy end. So they look like a purple Anaheim or Nu Mex Big Jim The Purple Marconi fruit are very sweet and can be fried, roasted, stuffed or used fresh in salads. The Purple Marconi plants grow up to 3 feet tall.
