Description:
Want a CHAMPION tomato? Flying Mountain is our own development. It is a DETERMINATE, nearly dwarf tomato (only getting about 3-4′ tall) and sets loads of round, firm, good slicer tomatoes that are ideal for sandwiches, cooking and would be a great market tomato. We developed it though utilizing the MOUNTAIN series of tomatoes. On our organic farm we’ve trialed over 30 heirloom tomatoes and narrowed it down to a very few, and this is one. We also trial them in wet, humid conditions where tomatoes are challenging.
After years of our own selection process for disease resistance, productivity and crack resistance, we now have a CHAMPION tomato. Fruit are regularly around .5- one pound or over. This tomato is MEATY, thick, has very few seeds with very good flavor. Very productive, disease resistant and reliable. Easy to grow due to those factors and it’s small size. Organically Grown.
Story of this Seed:
We developed this variety ourselves out of the Mountain series of disease-resistant, productive tomatoes for marketing. We had some volunteers come up out that seedstock and chose the best ones. These volunteers were tomatoes that we had NOT planted, yet they thrived and got a full crop of perfect tomatoes, with no care, no trellis, no pruning, nothing. We have kept the variety going and are happy to offer it for sale. Named after Hanuman, the flying warrior monkey of the Ramayana.
Growing Tips:
Start indoors 4-6 weeks before your last frost. Plant in full sun. Plant deeper than it was in the pot or tray, it will root rapidly. Make sure to trellis or cage it.

Answer this question
How does this selection cope with Leaf Mold (have you noticed any Leaf Mold - clm, ff, fulvia fulva, etc. - resistance or susceptibility in this land race selection?) We have terrible root knot nematodes and Leaf Mold (among other terrors) here in humid Zone 9 Florida. We really need to find a reliable Leaf Mold Resistant cultivar that also has some of the typical southern "VFN" tolerances. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read and respond :) Wishing you and yours perfect health, happiness, and abundant harvests in all that you sow!

We've noticed little to no leaf disease on this variety in our humid region with high disease pressure. It came from the "Mountain" series of disease resistant tomatoes.
