Papa's Blue is a very early and beautiful flour corn. It may be the earliest of all blue corns. The plants were 4 to 5 feet tall and had 1 or sometimes 2 ears. The ears have 8 rows of large kernels and are up to about 8 inches long.


Story of this Seed:

Papa's Blue was bred and selected by Ed Schultz in Bozeman, Montana under dryland conditions for about 30 years. It was just released in 2017.


Growing Tips:

Papa's Blue can germinate in cool soil temperatures. It can be planted a week or more before the last frost. If grown under irrigation I like to irrigate when it gets dry 2" down.
